In 1942 during World War II KA-BAR submitted a knife to the United States Marine Corps and working with the Marine Quartermaster Department a legend was born. The USMC Fighting Knife was also adopted by the Army, Navy, Coast Guard and Underwater Demolition Teams. The KA-BAR name is known by most people whether the are knife aficionados or not and the USMC fight knife is truly recognized by almost everyone.
This month we put a KA-BAR product to the test. We abused the KA-BAR Heavy Duty Warthog beyond what any knife should be and that is not an exaggeration, we at one point took a hammer to it. (Please Do Not Do This To This Or Any Other Knife). The evidence was recorded for posterity and you can see it here.
This is an incredible knife that really stood up to the abuse. Weighing in at over a pound, 12.25" long, 2.438" width blade and a blade thickness of 0.25". This is a serious tool.
